Lim Teck Wyn gave out conservation message in his speech during the Dolomite Park Avenue protest on October 26, 2012.
The Malaysian Nature Society & Cave Management Group stands firmly with Sri Maha Mariamman Temple Committee against the development of Dolomite Park Avenue twin 29-storey tower condo project at Batu Caves. We are deeply concerned with issues of public safety, ecological impact, Batu Caves status as a national heritage site & its landscape value.
The Batu Caves reserve was gazetted for Public Recreation in 1930 & listed as a National Heritage site in 2005. Development planning surrounding Batu Caves reserve has not complied with Department of Minerals & Geoscience guidelines for a safety buffer zone surrounding the base of the hill.
The project must not be allowed to proceed- permanently!
